We had our fourth meeting of the allotment association this evening at the The Stables, Meltonby. The Chair had produced the following Agenda for tonights meeting

GPA Allotments Association

Agenda 9/01/10

1.   Confirm arrangements for table top sale.

Help on the day , timings, clearing up

floats, carrier bags, cakes, adverts

allocation of tables/jobs

–      Clothing

–      Books

–      Toys,games, bric a brac

–      Electrical stuff   Andy

–      Cakes/produce

–      Tombola

–      door

2.   Draft agreements to put forward to pc next week.

3.   Update on funding bid – passed to 2nd stage.  Next steps – plan to start work in April regardless ?

4.   Other suggestions for fundraising :

–      Car boot

–      Cakes stall in Pock market place

–      Village hall social evening/quiz/pie & pea

–      Charity shop

5.   AOB

We had our third meeting of the allotment association this evening in the village hall kitchen, after members of the allotment association broke away from the Parish Council Meeting, after the Chairperson updated the Parish Council on our progress to date.

The Chairperson had produced the following Agenda for tonights meeting

AGENDA 26 May 2009

  1. Advertising/publicity – why, where, what are we trying to achieve. Offers of help, what to do with interested parties. Article for Pock. Post. Other locations.
  2. Format of meetings.
  3. Plans – Surveyor. Next steps.
  4. Furry friends! (rabbits)
  5. Constitution & Rules – examples to consider at a future date.
  6. Any other items.
  7. Date & time of next meeting.

I gave an update on the progress of the website. The allotment plans and schedule of works were discussed and we were all handed copies of example Constitution & Rules by the Chairperson to examine.

I think this was homework!

One member of the Allotment Association is a Surveyor, who has volunteered to survey the location, where we hope to site the allotments on Gravel Pit Field. The site visit is tomorrow at 7pm. I’ve been invited to attend, I hope to take pictures and video the site for inclusion here.

It was decided unamously to name the association Gravel Pit Allotment Association, because it’s hoped the allotments will be sited at the Gravel Pit field site in the parish of Yapham cum Meltonby, East Yorkshire.

Today at approximately, 19.45 a new Allotment Association was formed in the parish of Yapham cum Meltonby. A Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer were voted in.

The first Allotment Meeting was held today at 19.00, to gauge interest in creating Allotments on Gravel Pit Field, in the Parish of Yapham cum Meltonby, in East Yorkshire. Eight people from the parish attended the meeting.
